The Lounge
The ACM Lounge is located on the fifth floor of Lopata Hall, in room 509. You can find us by taking the
Lopata elevator up to the 5th floor and heading left for a bit, and then making a right after going through
the first door. Alternatively, you can wander out of The Attic heading towards Lopata, or go up the stairs
just outside of CEC. We also have a common area right outside the lounge, with a couch, chairs, tables, and trophy
case. Members can use their student ID to enter the lounge, which has a refrigerator and microwave.
The Library
Over the years we've collected a large variety of books for use by the ACM members. This includes everything
from development guides (pick your language and OS), popular software manuals/guides, theory books, and more.
Our library is always growing, however, and we'd love it you or someone you know could donate relevant books.
If so, just contact us at
acm@cec.wustl.edu.
The Computers
Each year it seems like ACM gets some sort of computer upgrade, starting from absolutely nothing in 1996. Right
now we have an iMac on loan from
Apple, a Solars on loan from
Sun, two PCs scavenged from the old graders lounge, and a brand new PC.
We've also acquired a Logitech QuickCam, which we'll be
working on
to develop a smart lounge webcam application.
The People
WU ACM is full of wonderful people, and is the official Student Advisory Board for the
Computer Science and Engineering Department. If you have questions
about the CSE curriculum, jusk ask any fellow ACM member. If you have any questions or concerns involving
the department, an
officer should be able to look into it for
you. Or, if you just want to put together a group to hack out the greatest thing since
Google, ask around in person or on our new
projects board.
