The 10th Annual UIUC Reflections|Projections conference is coming up in October. That may seem like a long way off, but we thought it'd be a good idea to make note of it anyway. The conference is being held up at UIUC (of course) on October 22nd through the 24th. Student Union has graciously allocated some money for ACM to cover some of the costs of transportation and lodging. Usually we send 6 or 8 people, but that's not a hard limit if enough people are interested. So, go read more about the conference and if you're interested in going in October, leave a comment.

This year's orientation BBQ for incoming students will be held August 30th, 12:00 - 2:00 PM in front of Cupples II. Any freshmen interested in computer science or ACM should stop by to grab a bite to eat and chat with the ACM officers. The food will be good and it'll give you a chance to find out what ACM is really about. We'll also have a sign up sheet for new members or those just interested in being on the mailing list (or you can sign up online right now). This will be the first of many ACM events over the semester, including programming contests, movie nights, tech talks, and a trip to the UIUC Reflections|Projections conference. We hope to see you on the 30th!
